The
Pilanesberg National Park & Game Reserve
in
Johannesburg
is situated in the Northwest province, about
a 2 hour drive northwest of Johannesburg.
The park ranks among the largest of the
national parks in South Africa (it is in
fact the fourth largest park), and covers an
area of 55,000 hectares.
It also has the
bonus of being a non-malaria area and is
home to the 'Big Five'.
The areas of
interest are;
- Ivory
Tree Lodge : Ivory Tree Game Lodge
is situated in the north eastern region
of the Pilanesberg National Park, the
closest point of entry is through
Bakgatla Gate. Nestled in the basin of
an ancient amphitheatre divided by
riverine woodlands and elephant trails
lies an exclusive lodge development
site. The central facility includes a
stunning feature pool, bar, conference
room, dinning room, boma, luxury spa,
reception and curio shop.
- Sun
City : The Palace of the Lost City
at Sun City is one of the most enticing
travellers' destinations in the world, a
tribute to man's imagination and revered
for its art and architecture. Fabled to

- Kwa
Maritane Resort : An ancient
alkaline volcano fashioned the very
hills that Kwa Maritane stands on today.
Hence it's name, which literally means
"Place of the Rock".

Bosele Group Camp : Bosele Camp,
located within the Manyane Resort,
offers a group facility in log-built
dormitory-type accommodation. The
well-equipped ablutions blocks provide
good hot showers, and there is a bar,
shop and restaurant within the camp, a
short walk from Bosele. There are also
teaching facilities.
