The Pilanesberg National Park is situated in the Northwest province, about a 2 hour drive northwest of Johannesburg. The park ranks among the largest of the national parks in South Africa (it is in fact the fourth largest park), and covers an area of 55,000 hectares. It also has the bonus of being a non-malaria area and is home to the 'Big 5'.
Depart from the hotel and head north through fertile valleys that give way to the mighty Magaliesberg mountain range. Cross the waters of the Hartebeespoortdam with its scattered sailing boats and onto Manyane Gate for refreshments, and then board a vehicle for a game drive in the Pilanesberg National Park. Your experienced guide will ensure the best game viewing possible, at close quarters.
After lunch (at clients cost) is enjoyed in the park we explore Sun City. Spend an afternoon at leisure to wander through the tropical gardens or take a refreshing swim, or sip an exotic cocktail at the Cascades. Marvel at the splendour of the Palace and it’s Lost City - or spend time at the casino, tempting lady luck.
